Bailey House Project

This project took place in a historic ante bellum home in Metro Atlanta. It was built approximately 1833.

Which makes it one of the first homes built south of Atlanta. The clients did a lot of research in finding out what the original

home would have looked like and it's history.

After talking with a historic preservationist it was determined that the fireplace was originally marbled in black

and there was a simple wood grain effect on the doors in the house. We met with the clients in November of 2005. In a series of meetings

we planned how best to approach the project. Eventually taking the step of determining to wood grain the woodwork below the chair rail.

A lot of work went into this project, not just for us, the artists but also for the clients who did much of the priming and stripping of old

woodwork themselves. There was also the fact that there was a lot of work to be done to make the woodwork presentable.

The project was to wood grain the three doors in the back hallway cherry. The living room would be Mahogany wood grain:

The three doors in the living room and Also the woodwork (chair rail and wainscoting.) Finally we would marble the fireplace

to resemble a porttoro marble.

Here are the results from this successful project!
